A new business is set to open in Kendrick Street, Stroud, in the former Trading Post record shop building.
Healthnuts is run by Alex Watson and Chris West and will welcome customers tomorrow, Sunday November 3rd.
“HealthNuts is a juice bar and wellness centre, with an emphasis on improving peoples’ mental and physical health through natural means, such as healthy food and drinks, meditation, yoga and holistic therapies. We have created a space where people can feel a sense of community and belonging with a relaxing and comfortable environment,” explained Chris.
“We were attracted to Stroud because of the thriving spiritual and alternative scene. Alex and I have been avid meditation and yoga practitioners for many years, using the practices to improve our mental and emotional well-being. We fell in love with these practices and started sharing and teaching mental well-being courses online. After some time we had the idea to create an in-person centre where we could provide the community with these practices – and HealthNuts was born.”
The new business will be offering yoga, meditation, bioenergetics, body-based therapy, herbal teas, juices, smoothies, healthy food, and music evenings.
Chris and Alex have been working hard on converting the building and opening a new yoga studio on the first floor: “The most interesting thing we discovered when renovating the building, was a fully intact 100-year-old lift which was hidden behind a stud wall! We also found an incredibly interesting time capsule in the form of a multitude of sweet wrappers that were stuffed in the old pine wooden floor which we renovated.
“We open our doors on Sunday, the 3rd of November, and classes start on Monday the 4th. There is an introductory offer where you get your first yoga or meditation class for £5.”
