New date for Horsfall House Charity Walk

MOST READ

Horsfall House, in Minchinhampton, will be holding its annual charity walk next weekend.

This year’s walk has moved from its familiar slot in May to June so that everyone can enjoy the sensitively-restored rose garden of Avening Court at its very best.

The route has been specifically selected for its variety and interest, giving walkers the opportunity to go through areas of Gatcombe Wood and the sensitively restored grounds of Avening Court, both of which are not normally open to the public. This is with the kind permission of the owners.

The full walk is a 10-mile circular route, the shorter walk just to Avening is around four miles and both are well signposted with marshals along the route to keep walkers on track. This year, a shuttle bus service will run again taking in Bell Lane Minchinhampton, Avening Social Club and Avening Court.

By popular demand, there is a new shorter walking route of around three miles back from Avening Court.

This year, a Horsfall House minibus will run a shuttle service between the Library in Bell Lane Minchinhampton, Avening Court, Avening Social Club and back. The first bus leaves the Library at 10.30am and the last bus departs from Avening Social Club at 4pm. There will be a donations bucket on board.
