A new quirky card and gift store has opened within the indoor market at Five Valleys adding something new and exciting to the fantastic food offer.

Opening in time for Mother’s Day weekend last week and for the special visit from The Princess Royal, the independent store has set off to a flying start.

Owner Tray Broadley has been delighted with the feedback so far from shoppers and can’t wait to add to her growing collection of greeting cards, gift wrap, scarves, costume jewellery, handbags and mugs that can be found already at her unit.

She said: “It’s been great to join the Five Valleys market at such an exciting time for the centre. The market is becoming an excellent hub for the local community with great footfall leading me to decide that it’s the perfect spot to start-up my gift and card business.”

The Lawrence Vanstone unit is unmissable with its bright turquoise walls at a prominent corner spot opposite newly opened fashion store, Amber.

The unit was formerly occupied by The Sweet Peach bubble tea vendor who has now moved to the unit behind to be closer to the other artisan food producers selling fresh fish, meat, fruit and veg, bakery and deli.

Centre Manager for Five Valleys, Jack Simpson, said: “It’s been great to welcome Lawrence Vanstone to the trader community here in the markets area. People can now explore a range of gifts and greeting cards whilst sampling the great food we have on offer here.”

The centre is continuing to grow its independent shopping offer with a large range of shops to purchase fashion, gifts, items for the home and more
