Randwick FC have appointed Lee Daniels as their new manager.

The change comes after Tom Herbert stepped down after leading the team to keep its position in Division One in the Stroud and District League last season.

Lee is a familiar face on the Randwick sidelines as he has helped coach Randwick Wasps youth teams since last year where both his sons play. He recently managed Chalford FC Third team.

Randwick Head of Football Dan Flynn said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Lee to the First team at Randwick. I’ve worked with him in our youth set up and I’m excited to take that work into the open age.”

Lee said: “I’m very much looking forward to getting started with Randwick. The whole ethos and setup of the club excites me.

“I’ve had a warm welcome from the committee and players, and I feel part of the Randwick family already.”

“I’m very grateful to Chalford for my time there; they are a great club. But I have ambitions to manage at the highest level I can achieve and Randwick, with all their future plans gives me a great opportunity to do that.”

Tom said: “I’m proud to have had the opportunity to manage the First team, and through all the highs and lows I’m glad I’ve been able to have this experience with the group of lads I’ve had over the last 14 months. Randwick is a fantastic team and I hope that I will be able to rejoin them as a player in the near future, once I’ve managed to regain some semblance of fitness!”

Chairman Mort Watkins added: “I’d like to thank Tom for his passion and commitment to the club over the last year and look forward to welcoming him back as a player.”
