New offices set to create 18 new jobs

Local contractors, S & C Bennett Construction, have started installing the steel frame for some brand-new office units which will be completed by next Easter.

The fully configurable units range from 280 sq ft to 1,600 sq ft benefiting from on-site parking and several shops and eateries all based within Five Valleys shopping centre.

Five Valleys is undergoing extensive refurbishment with the office developments marking an important milestone bringing more people to work in Stroud town centre.

The office units are being built to the left of the shopping centre entrance next door to the new Medical Practice which opened last year.

It is expected that the small office complex will bring around 18 new jobs to the area and the developers are speaking to a number of potential occupiers.

Work has also started on the £650k fit out to the new Specsavers unit, which can be found just inside the centre next door to Home Bargains.

Since taking over the former Merrywalk’s centre in 2018, Yorkshire based company Dransfield Properties Limited have worked closely with the community spending in excess of £25m on an area of town which has historically received little investment.

Managing Director for Dransfield Properties, James Shepherd, said: “It’s great to see work progressing so well on the new office spaces, things will really start to take shape now the steel frame of the building is going up.”

Any enquiries regarding retail or office space at Five Valleys should be directed to Olly Jansen on 01226 360644 or at olly.jansen@dransfield.co.uk

The company has so far safe-guarded and created 373 jobs and has created 11 new residential apartments supporting further footfall to the businesses. For more information about Five Valleys visit www.fivevalleysstroud.co.uk
