Well-known Stroud businessman Tony Davey has been co-opted to Stroud Town Council, writes Marianne Sweet.

Mr Davey will represent Uplands ward where he has lived for the past 15 years.

He is the Principal Balloon Decorator and Manager at Party On Up in addition to being the Chair of the Stroud & District Chamber of Trade & Commerce, having semi-retired from a long career in Information Technology.

He’s passionate about tourism and sustainable economic growth within the Stroud District and enjoys discovering the many local attractions and businesses in the area.

“I’ve loved Stroud since moving here in the 1970s and enjoy working with the businesses within our vibrant town,” said Councillor Davey.

“I have worked closely with the Town Council and other organisations for over two years with my work for the Chamber, and now hope to bring benefit to our wider Town community as part of the Town Council.”
