The next Stroud Short Stories event will be the 30th since its formation in 2011 and will be at a new venue.
The event will take place, for the first time, at the 150-seater Lansdown Hall in Stroud and will be part of the 2025 Stroud Book Festival.
Stroud Short Stories is currently looking for stories on the theme of Beauty for the next event on 9 November. Submissions are free and close on 21 September. Ten stories will be chosen for their authors to read at the Lansdown Hall.
SSS Organiser/Editor John Holland said, “No-one thought that when Stroud Short Stories was founded it would still be going 15 years later with 30 events under its belt. Gloucestershire has so many outstanding writers and we are delighted to continue to provide a showcase for them.”
John said, “The average number of submissions these days is around the hundred mark but each event includes newcomers so everyone who writes should give it a go. Most events sell out, so it gives writers the chance to read their stories to an audience of 150 people – this time at a new venue.”
John will be co-judging with award-winning short story writer and novelist Ali Bacon.
