New year, new you: meet the fitness instructor

MOST READ

My name is Helen Rogers, and I am a local fitness instructor. I run many fitness classes – everything from Dance, ZUMBA, Ballet, HIIT and Strength Training to Pilates and Yoga.

I love my job and am passionate about helping women and men through the power of movement, whether a personal goal is to lose weight, to boost mental health and confidence, improve strength and flexibility or to recover from or manage an ongoing health condition.

I teach in small, local halls which are far less intimidating than any large, impersonal gyms. I am always welcoming, non-judgmental and offer lots of alternative moves to be inclusive for all, especially any newcomers.

There are several ways to catch classes face-to-face in the hall, online via zoom or catch up on a class recording or content library.

Helen’s client testimonials

Maria

“I look forward every day to my sessions with Helen. These have made such a difference to me, both physically and mentally.

“Over the years I have been able to stop or reduce much of the medication I needed to get through each day. The camaraderie and friendship I enjoy have made such a difference to my mental health. The sessions are so full of fun – they make getting fit a real pleasure.”

Danella

After my youngest child started school, I wanted to get back to exercise and do something for myself.

“Following a lower disc injury, a consultant recommended Yoga and Pilates and with BEFIT being right on my doorstep, I decided to give it a try.

“I enjoyed and benefitted from the Gravity Stretch Yoga but wanted something more upbeat, so I started Body Fit as well. The two classes combined worked perfectly; in fact my friend and I enjoyed them so much we wanted to fit more sessions into our weekly schedule. The classes are local, friendly, and fun and Helen is knowledgeable and welcoming.

“I really enjoy the social side as much as the exercise itself. In fact, I would go to a lot more classes if work didn’t get in the way.”

Claire

“Suffering from pain in my hip, I was told that Yoga would help, and a friend recommended Helen’s classes.

“I felt a bit nervous as I had never been to an exercise class before, but from the minute I walked into the hall Helen made me feel very welcome and my nerves just disappeared.

“After only two sessions of Yoga, my hip felt much better and five months on I am now pain-free and feeling so much fitter. I have gone from doing no exercise to attending 3-4 classes a week. Helen is always very professional but more importantly her approach and instruction ensure all her classes are an enjoyable experience.”
