A Stroud artist and her dog will step up to the challenge of running a half-marathon on canal paths around Stroud.
Nick Grellier and Lurcher Stan will set off on August 1st to raise money for OPENhouse in Stroud, supporting vulnerable and disengaged young people to become independent.
Nick feels her fundraising effort is the driving force in taking up the running challenge alongside her four-legged partner, she said: “OPENhouse provides housing and support to young adults 16-25 with complex needs such as mental health issues, learning disabilities and challenging behaviours who, are at risk of homelessness in and around Stroud.”
Her route will start and finish in the centre of Stroud and Nick pointed to Stan as the perfect running companion.
She said: “Stan who is two, comes with a good sense of humour and is an excellent running partner.”
Nick is definitely running off the cuff, she added: “I don’t have a training schedule, I just run quite a lot and I like trail running with Stan.”
