Nigel Winterburn tips Robbie Savage for bright future in management

Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn believes Robbie Savage will continue to attract interest from clubs, but insists any move will come down to timing.

Speaking amid recent links with Bristol Rovers, the former Arsenal defender said managers who show promise are always monitored by clubs considering a change in the dugout.

“Anyone who goes into management will always be looked at,” Winterburn told OLB: “Clubs keep a close eye on what managers are doing, but it’s always about when the time is right.

“If Robbie continues to do well at Forest Green, there will be a bigger club coming for him. That might start with a League club – one of the bigger sides at that level.

“He’ll have aspirations to manage at the highest level, and if that opportunity comes along, he’ll have earned it through the work he’s doing now.”

It’s good for the children and their education, good for the community and great for local suppliers.
