Dale Vince is confident that Forest Green Rovers can one day reach the Championship, even if the club isn’t putting a clock on its rise.
Rovers previously reached the heights of League One before suffering back-to-back relegations to the National League and despite three consecutive defeats, the team remains well-placed to compete in the play-offs.”
Manager Robbie Savage insists the side are on a journey and Rovers’ chairman echoed those sentiments when speaking to broadcaster DAZN, he said: “We’re just at the beginning, like Robbie says, start of a journey. We’re having fun. We’re doing well. There’s more to come. It’s an exciting time on the pitch, but off the pitch, plans underway for the new stadium.
“Our ultimate aim is to be in the Championship. That’s what the stadium’s for. It’s on Junction 13 of the M5. It’s great catchment. We’ve got 100 acres there. Great training ground. We’ll build a green tech business park as well.
“The future of the club is at Junction 13 and we intend to be in the Championship. There’s so much that’s uncertain about football. We’ve grown as a club. We’ve been building behind the scenes for years now. We’ve finally got ourselves a great training ground, got ourselves a great manager.
“We’ve been in League One, so it’s not that we can’t get there. We know we can.”
