  • Hollywood-owned Wrexham have won 60% of their opening day fixtures in the past ten years, opening day foes MK Dons have won just 50% in comparison
  • Both Forest Green and Swindon have won eight of their past ten opening day fixtures

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will witness League Two football at its finest on August 5 as Wrexham welcome MK Dons to the Racecourse.

Research from OLBG has concluded the ‘Red Dragons’ have won 60% of their opening day fixtures from the past decade, with the Dons winning just five out of their last ten on the season opening day.

These records pale in comparison to Swindon and Forest Green, with both sides winning an incredible 80% of their opening day fixtures in the past ten years. ‘The Green Devils’ were beaten 1-0 by Boreham Wood at the start of the 2016/17 season – their last defeat on the opening day of the past decade.

Colchester United have endured horrific opening days of the past decade, with a 1-0 win against Gillingham back in 2013 their last victory on the opening day of the last ten years.
