Over the moon: legendary astronaut makes contact with Year 2 pupils

A tweet from astronaut Tim Peake made pupils at Hopelands Preparatory School feel over the moon.

During a special Space Day, the Year 2 pupils’ classroom was transformed into outer space as they dressed up in space outfits, designed rockets, and learned how astronauts survive for so long in a spaceship.

And the space project was complete when Peake, who spent six months orbiting Earth on board the International Space Station, responded to a school tweet, by saying: “Brilliant – great that you’re enjoying learning about space and I love the outfits, especially scary aliens.
