Parents’ fears as school sealed off by police

Emergency services rushed to Cirencester College this afternoon after an unknown threat forced the school into lockdown.

The college later confirmed via its Facebook page that the situation had been resolved: “The site is now reopened and buses are leaving shortly to get students home. We will send a more detailed update as to the events of today later this evening. Thank you for your patience.”

Parents expressed concern as they waited for their children to be released. One parent told Stroud Times: “We aren’t sure exactly what has happened, but it has been such a worry. We’re waiting now to get our daughter home safely.”
