A game-changer for sustainable travel is being delivered by Transition Stroud and backed by Stroud District Council.

This exciting initiative is made possible through funding from Stroud District Council, with project delivery by Transition Stroud in partnership with The Bike Drop and the Horsley Walking and Cycling Project.

John Tierney, co-ordinator for Pedal Power Bikes, said: “We’re delighted to introduce the Benno Boost Bike to Horsley adding to our cargo bikes based at Stonehouse, Minchinhampton and Brimscombe. Transition Stroud’s involvement underscores the bike’s role in the wider movement toward reducing reliance on cars and fostering a healthier, greener Stroud District. The Bike Drop supply and service all the e-bikes in the scheme and Horsley Walking and Cycling Project have also played a crucial role by providing a fantastic shelter for the bike to live in when it’s not on hire.
Tim Bevan, volunteer for Horsley Walking and Cycling Project said: “With the support of Horsley Parish Council we’ve been working to improve the provision of cycle facilities in Horsley. Collaborating with Pedal Power to bring the option of accessible e-bike hire to Horsley and the surrounding communities is the icing on the cake. To celebrate, we’re hosting a fun afternoon of cycling-related activities on 16th March 2.00pm at Horsley Village Hall. The event, called GoCycle Horsley, is open to all and will provide anyone interested with the opportunity to try out the new e-bike.”
