A Stroud man is set to get in the saddle to cycle in the memory of his mother and raise vital funds for the hospice that cared for her.
Will Gibson will cycle 145 miles from his home in Stroud to the Rowcroft Hospice in Torquay.
Will said: “After a decade long winning-streak against cancer, last year my mum, Jenny spent the last part of her life in the wonderful care of the staff and volunteers at Rowcroft Hospice in Torquay.
“In honour of mum, and to support the care of future patients, I will be cycling 145 miles (235km) from my home in Stroud, to the hospice in Torquay, South Devon on August 24- 25.”
Debbi Shotton, Rowcroft Community Fundraising Officer said: “This is such a wonderful way for William to honour his mum, and we are so grateful that he has chosen to support Rowcroft Hospice in this way. We rely heavily on voluntary donations to help us provide vital care and support to over 2,500 patients across South Devon every year. We simply couldn’t do it without people like William.”
