Daleks have invaded an auction room near Tetbury. The emotionless aliens from the BBC’s long-running science fiction series, Doctor Who, will go under the hammer in a sale at John Rolfe Auctions in Babdown in the autumn.
The ruthless cyborgs first appeared on screen in 1963 in the Doctor Who serial, The Daleks.
“These have come in privately, with no reserve, so here to be sold in a collector sale we’re having at the end of October. We’ve got further collector’s item from film and television, including some Muhammad Ali photographs,” said Mr Rolfe.
The red Dalek is believed to have formed part of an exhibition at Longleat, whilst its bronze counterpart may have featured on television in the relaunched Doctor Who series in the early 2000s. It is equipped with a seat and controls for its weapons, and Saleroom Manager Ali Lidbetter took it for a spin around the warehouse.
A coat in the style of Colin Baker’s Doctor and a knitted scarf will also go under the hammer in the Collectors’ Sale on October 27th.
