Despite an innings of 99 from Minchinhampton opener Alex Waring, Whitminster came out on top by two wickets at the Stuart Playing Fields.

Earlier, Minch captain John Roe elected to bat and Waring was quickly on the front foot as his side gained an early foothold in the game with fellow opener Shabir Mostafa chipping in with 20 runs.

James Grant propped things up with a dogged 32 as Minch finished on 212 for five from their 40 overs.

In reply, Ross Waklely clubbed 54 runs and Whitminster captain Jack Price helped steer the visitors home with a belligerent 44 to see his side finish on 218 for the loss of eight wickets.
