Moina Moin and Freya Tate, known as the Stroud-based audio visual duo ‘Mermaid Chunky’ celebrated Beltane on Selsley Common.

Beltane is the Gaelic May Day festival marking the beginning of summer, usually celebrated with symbolic use of fire to mark the returning powers of the sun and carry out purification. Moina, dressed in red, and Freya in yellow to herald and swirl in the summer.

This Friday, May 3rd, at SVA Beltane Dew will celebrate the arrival of summer. Performances from 6pm with a procession through town at 7.50pm with more performances at The Goods Shed from 8pm-1am. Details on the website: https://www.sva.org.uk/events/bealtainedew
