Painswick’s away win at Wotton Rovers on Saturday saw them extend their winning streak to five games and remain at the top of Stroud League Division One.

Two goals from Dave Creed and another from Callum Rickard gave them a 3-0 win over the hosts, who had a goal disallowed in the first half.

Painswick’s manager, Carl Williams told Stroud Times: “I thought it was a very well contested game. I thought both teams played really well.

“Credit to the opposition, they never gave up. They battled hard, they worked hard, and on the day, we were just that bit better, you know, we finished our chances. I thought we were absolutely fantastic.

“We’ve got three more games this season and if we win the next game we’ve won the league.”
