Thanks to relatively clear skies this morning’s partial solar eclipse could be seen around the county.

In Gloucestershire, around 30 per cent of the Sun was obscured as the Moon passed in front of it. Matt Bigwood made this composite image by taking photos every two minutes until the Sun returned in full at just before midday. The eclipse began at around 11am.

Technical details: Sony A9 digital camera with 200-600mm lens and a neutral density filter attached. 1/32000 second at f/36.
