Wotton Rovers 9 – Shortwood Reserves 3
Rampant Wotton Rovers hit struggling Shortwood Reserves for nine at Synwell on Saturday.
Rovers got off to a flying start with Mitch Cornock giving the home side the lead within sixty-seconds. Nick Bird made it two on seven minutes and Korbin Walker added a third.
Rovers’ goal avalanche continued with James Scott, Rio Tomlin on target.
Walker bagged his second and Tomlin helped himself to a brace as goals rained in. James Potts completed the first half scoring as Rovers posted eight goals in 45 minutes of dominance.
Shortwood improved after the break, but Mitch Cornock made it nine for clinical Rovers.
For Shortwood, Max Brent bagged a brace and Kieran Simmonds scored for the Nailsworth side, who sit one place above the relegation zone.
Rovers are second in the table, four points behind leaders Painswick.
