Officers are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a man was assaulted in Stroud earlier this month.

It was reported that a man was walking along High Street at around 8.15pm on Wednesday 7 December when he was approached by a group of people and hit over the head with a bottle.

The group ran off towards the Shambles area and were described as being 16 or 17 years old. The group was made up of two males and one female.

One of the males was wearing dark green/grey clothing with a balaclava and the other was wearing a grey jumper, black joggers and black trainers.

The female was wearing a grey jumper, grey joggers and black shoes.

It is believed the group had followed the victim as he walked along Gloucester Street and onto High Street before the assault happened.

The victim sustained injuries to his face and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward as well as any drivers who may have dashcam footage which could assist with the investigation.
