Police attend incident in Stroud

There was a large police presence in Merrywalks, Stroud this afternoon, and the A46 closed in both directions.

In a statement to Stroud Times, a Gloucestershire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We were called shortly before 3.30pm today with a report of a concern for welfare incident with a person on a bridge. Members of the public helped prior to the arrival of emergency services and road closures were put in place while they were in attendance. The person is now safe.”
