Police believe lewd acts and spraying substance threat are linked

Police believe two incidents involving a man masturbating and a substance spray threat are linked.

Police are received a report of a man masturbating near the canal along the Ebley Bypass in Stroud on Monday, September 5.

Police also received a report of a man and a woman being approached by a man and threatened with spraying a substance in their face.

Both incidents are believed to involve the same man and happened around 5pm.

The man and woman were not physically harmed.

Officers are investigating and the case is progressing.

The neighbourhood policing team are conducting extra, high visibility patrols in the area for reassurance.

Officers encourage anyone who has witnessed or been victim to similar behaviour to come forward.
