Police have been given more time to detain a woman arrested on suspicion of murdering a man who was thought to have had his mobility scooter stolen.
The woman, who is aged 40 and from Stroud, can remain in police custody for an extra 36 hours.
Police were called shortly before 6am on Sunday (22 January) with a report a man had been found unresponsive in the car park of Tesco superstore on Stratford Road.
The man, aged in his 60s, had been found without his mobility scooter which he uses as his mode of transport.
He was subsequently taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by paramedics and died later that day. His next of kin has been informed.
It is believed that the victim was subject of a robbery and his mobility scooter was taken.
The Major Crime Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with information which could assist is asked to contact police.
