A man has come forward and contacted police after they had released CCTV images to try and identify a man in connection with an incident in Wotton-under-Edge in July.
Police have thanked the public and media for their help in sharing the appeal which was issued on Tuesday (9 September).
The incident happened just before 1pm on Wednesday, July 9 when a man entered a town centre shop claiming to be selling carving knives. Once the premises was empty, he pulled the shop owner into a back room, showed him a bag of knives, and threatened him—demanding cash payment for the items.
The victim was forced to show his bank account to prove he had no money, after which the suspect left. Although physically unharmed, the victim was left shaken and fearful.
Officers had released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
