Police are appealing for potential victims to come forward after reports of attempted burglaries in Cheltenham.

Officers received seven separate reports that a man and woman were trying door handles overnight between Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 January.

In each case, the man has tried the door which, on every occasion, has been locked. Nothing has been taken or damaged in the incidents.

The first incident took place on Lipson Road at 11.45pm, followed by one on Welch Road at 11.50pm and Howell Road shortly before midnight. There was a fourth incident on Peter Pinnell Close at 12.20am, a fifth on Springbank Road at 12.25am and one on Hesters Way Lane at 12.30am. There was also an incident on Old Gloucester Road.

Police are aware of further incidents and believe a number of others may have taken place but have not been reported.

They are now asking for any other people who believe they have been a victim to come forward. They would also like to speak to anybody with ring doorbell footage who has not already reported an incident.

Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact Gloucestershire Constabulary through the website quoting incident 222 of 17 January: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/contact/af/contact-us/us/a-crime-that-has-already-been-reported/

There are a number of ways that you can protect your home from burglars. You can find advice on the Constabulary website: https://www.gloucestershire.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/protect-home-crime/
