Police respond to social media concerns over guns near school

Gloucestershire Police have responded to concerns that firearms were in operation at a nearby school in Stonehouse.

Social media reports raised consternation that police were using a building close to Stonehouse Park Infant School in Elm Road.

A statement sent to Stroud Times from Gloucestershire Police said: “The building in Stonehouse is routinely used for training Police Firearms Officers. 

“No live ammunition is used during training – officers only fire training rounds.”
