EastEnders is synonymous with the Queen Vic, but the legendary TV show became the home of a popular social club in Minchinhampton for the screening of a special episode, featuring a certain famous regular.
Stroud actor Keith Allen joined punters at the Minchinhampton Cotswold Club to watch the episode, where the Trainspotting and Robin Hood actor features in the story of Phil Mitchell’s recovery in a mental health unit where he meets and befriends a fellow patient named Gaz, who is played by Allen.

A post on the Minchinhampton Cotswold Club Facebook page said: “Thanks to all who came along to meet Keith Allen for the showing of his EastEnders debut and the Q&A after. Top work Keith, thank you.”
Set over the course of four weeks, the special episode followed Phil as he begins treatment to address his depression and symptoms of psychosis after he attempted to take his own life during the soaps’ 40th anniversary episodes.
