Post-mortem confirms no foul play in swan death

Police investigating the death of a swan in Gloucester earlier this month have confirmed the incident is no longer being treated as suspicious.

On Saturday, September 13, a member of the public discovered the body of a swan at the Balancing Ponds in Saintbridge. Initial concerns were raised that the bird may have been deliberately harmed, and as all wild birds are protected by law, an investigation was launched.

Following a post-mortem examination carried out by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), it has been confirmed there is no evidence of foul play.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the cause of death.
