A sudden power cut has impacted a number of businesses on a trading estate in Stroud.

Salmon Springs Trading Estate was hit by the power outage at 8am this morning, Friday.

Western Power Distribution are working to repair the fault and estimate power will be restored by 7pm.

James Horwood, director of Kitchen Garden Foods, told Stroud Times that his company had been unable to complete any food production, he said: “Lots of businesses are affected, including the Royal Mail. Another company on the estate couldn’t even open this morning because their shutters are electric.

“There’s been no production at all on the estate today, and it looks like things won’t be back to normal for a while.”
