RAF pilot to speak at Wings and Wheels meeting

The next meeting of the Wings and Wheels Society Dursley features a talk entitled ‘Military Aviation Procurement since 1945 – Success or Failure’ by Jock Heron.

Jock is a retired Group Captain and a highly experienced RAF fast jet pilot, having flown also on exchange duties with the United States and French Air Forces. His MoD tours included justifying the birth of the Tornado and, some years later, the second-generation Harrier. After retirement he spent 12 years with Rolls-Royce hence has seen air systems procurement shortcomings both through the eyes of the customer and industry.
