Against the odds, in 1984 a cricket pitch was established on the slopes of Randwick playing fields, providing the opportunity to play cricket locally.
Since then, Randwick Cricket Club has developed a team to play in the Stroud league. The club now need help to bring the club into the 21st Century.
Club Captain, Pete Richter said: “For some years now we have struggled with pitch preparation due to a reliance on a heavy manual push/pull roller.
“Sport England have recognised our plight and pledged a grant of £2,500 to buy a motorised roller, but only if we match their grant offer with fundraising. A Crowdfunder appeal has been launched and we now need just under £1,000 to match the Sport England offer. We would be grateful to anybody who can donate to our fundraiser. A big thank you to everybody who has already donated.”
