Leading Stroud law firm Redkite Solicitors launched a business breakfast with a difference at Boho Bakery at Court Farm, King’s Stanley.
The inaugural event, sponsored by Redkite and Naylor Powell Estate Agents in Stonehouse, saw Red Kite partner Ryan Hogarty host the event. Ryan, a lawyer and leadership coach explained the concept: “WorkStory is a networking event where people from the working world gather around the interconnected spheres of leadership, workplace fairness and sustainability (ESG).
“The aim is to create a movement of people that are curious, willing to learn and go and make changes in their worlds.
“This fresh take on a networking event uses storytelling as a simple tool to change the way it’s attendees think and interact within each of the three spheres.
“Each event starts with a StoryStarter: a written prompt to help attendees spark some of their own stories. This is followed by a speaker sharing an inspiring story which is anchored in one the three spheres. The attendees are encouraged to listen, learn, go into their workplaces with the learning and use storytelling to influence positive change.
“If they desire the attendees are welcome back to the next monthly WorkStory chapter and encouraged to share learning through telling their stories to each other. This reflective exercise is intended to embed and drive further change.
“If we believe that we can change our story and take responsibility for our spheres of influence we really can make a difference.
“To be honest, I never expected to received such a keen response to such a novel concept. I am really chuffed that people are eager, like me, to foster learning and change within themselves and their workplaces.”
The next event will be held in the last week of February.
