Conservative Councillor Nick Housden is the new owner of the Carlton Club.
Cllr Housden, 32, will assume the role of chairman and manager. Formerly known as the Conservative Club, the Carlton Club on London Road, Stroud, will be given a new lease of life with new branding and signage.
The club has a large function room, snooker room, three bars, meeting rooms and the main entrance will also be updated as an outdoor seating area.
Cllr Housden said: “I am delighted to be appointed as the club’s new chairman, and to take it forward after a challenging few years.
“The club has a really well supported membership base, and I want to make this the go-to place in Stroud for live sport, pool and darts and with our spacious function rooms available for hire.
“After the committee asked me to take the club forward after a challenging few years, I agreed a fresh lease of life for the club would be a good thing, and I’m happy to help”
