Music legend Rick Astley will perform at Westonbirt Arboretum next summer.
Astley will be bringing his band back to Forestry England Westonbirt Arboretum on 27 June.
In 1987, Astley released his debut single “Never Gonna Give You Up,” which became a worldwide sensation with the song reaching #1 in 25 countries, including the US and UK, and won Best British Single at the 1988 Brit Awards. His debut album, ‘Whenever You Need Somebody’ (1987), sold over 15 million copies and included other hits like: “Together Forever”, “Whenever You Need Somebody” and “It Would Take a Strong Strong Man”. Rick’s appeal spread across the generations thanks to the internet and the whole ‘Rickrolling’ phenomenon, opening him up to new audiences around the world. And the still-boyish singer, songwriter and producer has stayed at the top of his game ever since, enjoying collaborations with the likes of Foo Fighters and Blossoms, show-stealing sets at Glastonbury and a number two chart position for 2023 album Are We There Yet? – contributing to more than 40million record sales worldwide.
During Astley’s live shows, the crowd-pleasers come thick-and-fast: from the ‘80s classics to fan favourites from his chart-topping albums, to typically surprise, classy covers, all adding up to an incredible evening with one of the UK’s greatest showmen.
