Road closures following serious collision

Police have closed several roads near the A417 in Birdlip following a serious collision this morning (Sunday 1 February).

Emergency services were called at around 9.40am with a report of a two vehicle collision on the A417 Birdlip bypass

The A417 has been closed in both directions between Cirencester and Gloucester (including the Air Balloon roundabout).

Road closures are also in place from the slip road of the M5 junction 11A Brockworth interchange, B4070 Buckholt Road junction and Twelve Bells junction while emergency services remain at the scene.

These are expected to remain in place for a number of hours with motorists asked to plan their route in advance and avoid the area.
