Cashes Green Road is back open after Gloucestershire Highways completed essential drainage works two days ahead of schedule.
The scheme’s second week began on Monday 17 July between 8 am and 4:30 pm, with an overnight closure needed on Tuesday evening to finish the excavation works that intend to alleviate flooding in the area.
The closures caused delays for Cashes Green residents along Foxmoor Lane and through Paganhill, with Tuesday’s closure announced at short notice before the reopening on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire County Council, said: “Our crews worked tirelessly to be able to reopen the road at 3 pm on Wednesday 19 July, over two days ahead of schedule.
“The second week of the scheme began on Monday 17 July with a road closure in place between 8 am and 4.30 pm for the safety of both the workforce and the public, with a diversion route in place and additional signs on display.
“An overnight road closure was required on Tuesday evening as the reinstatement of some excavation works could not be completed in time. Whilst this was conveyed via social media, we appreciate it was very late notice and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
