Robbie Savage could take charge of his first League One game as Peterborough United boss against former club Leicester City – just days after his departure from Forest Green Rovers was announced by owner Dale Vince.
Savage’s potential reunion with the Foxes is scheduled to take place at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, October 10.
Vince announced this week that Savage was leaving Forest Green to join Peterborough, although Posh are yet to officially confirm his appointment.
If the move is completed, Savage could begin his Peterborough reign with a trip to Leicester – the club where he enjoyed a hugely successful playing career.
The Welshman made 204 appearances for the Foxes after joining from Crewe Alexandra in 1997.
He helped Leicester lift the League Cup in 2000 before leaving for Birmingham City in 2002 for £2.5 million and was appointed captain by manager Steve Bruce.
