Rodborough & Wallbridge Community Interest Company (CIC) is delighted to announce that it has been awarded £12,690 in funding from the National Lottery Awards for All programme to support a series of improvements at Wallbridge Fields.
Thanks to National Lottery players, this funding will help the CIC:
- Improve the main path through the site, making it accessible year-round.
- Install interpretation boards to share the story of the site and its wildlife.
- Create a new wildlife pond to encourage biodiversity.
- Set up wildlife cameras so the community can observe the local wildlife even when they’re not on site.
- Host community days to bring people together and celebrate this much-loved green space.
Liz Hillary, one of the CIC directors, said: “We are thrilled to have received this support from the National Lottery Community Fund. This grant will allow us to make real improvements to Wallbridge Fields, ensuring it remains a welcoming and inspiring space for local people, while enhancing its value for nature. We are hugely grateful to the National Lottery Awards for All programme, and to everyone in the community who continues to enjoy and support this special place.”
The improvements will take place over the next two years, with community days planned to involve local residents in celebrating and enjoying the site.
The award was confirmed at the end of September by The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players to help communities and people thrive.
