A takeaway cafe is open for business at Giffords Circus.
The Flying Sauce Cafe – opened this morning (Tuesday) with popular Stroud clown Tweedy and ‘Keef’ the iron, welcoming the first customers to the circus’s headquarters at Fennells Farm near Stroud.
Run by executive chef Ols Halas and Tom Cross, the cafe is housed in a circus vintage-style wagon and originally ‘popped-up’ in lockdown 2020 but makes a welcome return to serve breakfast from 8am and lunch from noon – 3pm, Tuesday to Saturday and will run until Saturday, February 26th.
Ols welcomed the opening of the cafe ahead of Giffords 2022 show ¡Carpa! which opens on April 14th at Fennells Farm, tickets are now already on sale from www.giffordscircus.com
He said: “We’re really excited to be re-launching. Our menu will be ever-changing and we use ingredients from local suppliers in the Cotswolds.
“We’ll only be here for a short time before we hit the road and go on tour, so come and see us and try our food.
Flying Sauce will be serving breakfast from 8am – 11.30am and lunch from noon – 3pm from Tuesday – Saturday. The menu will change depending on what’s in season and from the freshest ingredients, such as, the best bacon that can be sourced, loaded hand-cut wedges, braised short ribs and hotdogs smoked on-site. There will also be vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.
