SDC Leader will not be standing as parliamentary candidate

Leader of Stroud District Council, Doina Cornell has announced on Twitter she will not be standing as parliamentary candidate for Stroud.

Cllr Cornell wrote: “I’m sorry to say the Labour Party has decided I’m not suitable to be on the parliamentary longlist for Stroud. I’m disappointed local members won’t get to choose whether or not to vote for me. I’ll put out a statement later today. Thank you everyone for your wonderful support.”
