Shopper slams panic buying as toilet roll and pasta disappear from shelves once again

MOST READ

Last year’s nightmarish toilet roll and pasta shortages could be on their way back.

Shelves at Waitrose in Stroud were looking threadbare this morning when Stroud Times’ reader Phil Greaves sent these pictures in.

A fuming Phil said: “I really don’t understand it, first petrol and now loo paper and pasta panic buying is back – people are incredibly selfish.”

Countrywide supply issues mean some products are currently unavailable.

A spokesperson from Waitrose said: “We’ve had a localised supply issue. We are very sorry to our customers for the inconvenience.”
