The first of two Record Store Days this year proved as popular as ever at Stroud’s independent record shops.
Trading Post, in Kendrick Street, and Sound Records at the top of High Street opened their doors at 8am to a queue of eager customers.
“A regular customer arrived at 2.30am and was shocked to find he wasn’t first in the queue – someone else had been there since 1.50am!” said Simon Vincent, owner of Trading Post.
The event, which began in 2008, sees rare limited edition vinyl being released, and only available on a first-come, first-served basis.
The next Record Store Day takes place on July 17th.
