Shortwood director of football backs team to turn the corner

After a winless start to the Hellenic League season, Shortwood Director of Football Jason Scrivens is backing the side to turn things around.

Touted as promotion front runners, the Nailsworth side have leaked 14 goals in the last three games, but Scrivens is giving his full support to boss Matt Blythe and his staff.

Scrivens said: “We are sticking with the current management team – despite the recent results and what outsiders may think – we see it only fair they are given fair chance in light of recent injuries that have hampered performances. The players have to take some responsibility for this too.”
