Shortwood United FC enjoyed their presentation evening at the Old Lodge on Friday, and after the meal and the speeches the club recognised the long service of Simon Grant, Lee Jones, Chas Levitt and Mark (Axl) Davis and made them life members. All thoroughly deserved and a tribute to their work and ongoing support to the club, writes Jim Cunneen.

Supporters’ player of the year – Alfie Bradshaw; Manager’s Player – Joe Wright; Player’s player – Olly Whelan; Young player – Adi Adichareh; Top Goalscorer – Alfie Bradshaw; Goal of the season (the Paul Benneyworth Trophy) – Jai Underwood

Reserves: Supporters’ Player of the year – Keegan Bowes; Manager’s player – Toby Colliver; Players’ player – Will Davis; Young player – Koji Bayliss – Cutler; Top Goalscorer -Jake Wellington; Most improved player – Cal Freeman; Reserves Clubman – Bayley Evanson.

Last but by no means least, the players made a special award to Stan Jury for his match day help at every single first team game this season and his overall support to the club.
