Simon Freeman’s Shortwood United U18s will now travel to Gloucester City U18s after shocking Hartpury College in the FA Youth Cup at a packed Meadowbank, writes Jim Cunneen.

Toby Colliver led by example. Dan Wright and Miguel Odia – Cloey battled away up front and never gave Hatpury a chance to relax and if not for a terrific save from Ovenham in the Hatpury goal it might have been more.

Ollie Elliot the Wood keeper also made some vital saves but it is the whole side that deserves the credit for the win.

The only goal came in the 42nd minute – Wright being pulled down in the box before scoring from the spot.

There was a heart-in-the-mouth moment when Hartpury had the ball in the net in the 96th minute but the flag had been raised before the shot and the Wood were through.

Shortwood U18s: Ollie Elliott, Freddie Fisher, Harvey Nightingale, Toby Colliver, Alex Courtney, Callum Freeman, Miguel Odia – Coley, Will Davis, Dan Wright, Owen Scrivens, Fraser Hankins, Aidan Hill, Kai Sarson, Charlie Anderson, Charlie Grant
