A gentle snow flurry will be falling in Nailsworth next month thanks to special-effects experts Snow Busines, writes Katie Jarvis.
Sunday, December 11 will see the community Christmas market, brought to the town by Nailsworth Chamber of Trade – with festive weather courtesy of local special-effects experts Snow Business.
“The market is Nailsworth’s ‘goodwill evening’, and the town’s biggest event of the year,” said Sarah Martin of the chamber. “The snow is just one part of a whole lot of magic sprinkled on the town, which will be decked with twinkling lights and festive greenery to get everyone into the Christmas spirit.”
Running from 2-7pm in the bus station and Mortimer Gardens, more than 50 market stalls will offer unique gift ideas for every pocket. Many of the town’s shops and cafes will stay open, with free entertainment provided – from music to circus skills.
“What’s more, we’ve heard that some special guests already have the event booked into their diaries,” Sarah added. “Santa and Mrs Claus have sent us acceptance cards. Their elves will be there with their sleigh – perfect for photos – and they’ve said they’ll be bringing Elsa and Anna from Frozen, too.
“Nailsworth is a fantastic town, with so many individual shops. This event will really show it at its best. There’ll be lots for children to enjoy, and plenty for adults, too. It’s not only a chance to find the perfect gift for loved ones, but we hope shoppers will manage a cheeky glass of mulled wine.”’
