Snow ‘on the way’ as early as Saturday, as Met Office give verdict

Snow could fall in the Stroud district tomorrow, Saturday.

The Met Office have placed a warning for snow and ice from 12pm on Saturday, January 4 to 11.59pm on Sunday, January 5.

The Met Office said there is a small possibility that power cuts will take place and other services, like mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

A spokesperson said: “Outbreaks of rain spreading progressively north eastwards later on Saturday and overnight into Sunday will likely be preceded by a spell of snow on its northern flank.

“While there is some uncertainty, any snow in southern and eastern parts of England, especially at low levels, will probably be rather transient before turning back to rain.”
